NEW ADDITIONS TO THE 400 THUNDER AEROFLOW DRAG RACING SERIES

NEWS, PROFESSIONAL, SPORTSMAN | 7 Sep 2022 |

The 400 Thunder Aeroflow Drag Racing Series is proud to welcome Andrew Casos as the Chief Starter and Emma O’Neill as the Relationships Co-Ordinator to the event team that will be at every 400 Thunder Aeroflow Drag Racing Series event for the remainder of the 2022-23 Season.

“Since the Winternationals it had become clear to me that to move forward we must surround ourselves with team members that share the same vision for 400 Thunder Aeroflow Championship Drag Racing”, 400 Thunder General Manager Jason Hedges said today.

“After talking to many of our racers, the one thing that was always at the forefront of discussions was that they wanted consistency regardless of where we are racing. A big part of that consistency begins at the startline – no pun intended”.

“Having only met Andrew at the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals in June, I was constantly picking his brain in regard to his history in the sport, his ideas and his vision on how we can make drag racing great again”, Jason continues. “A few weeks after the event I reached out to Andrew and invited him to be part of the 400 Thunder Family as Chief Starter at all 400 Thunder events we attend”.

“When Jason called it was a surprise to be honest, I know we spent a lot of time chatting when we met, and to be offered this role from Jason, I was thrilled to say the least”, says Andrew. “I love this sport and grew up in the drag racing family, and to now be offered a role as an integral part of this series – I’m ecstatic”, said an excited Casos.

“Being the Chief Starter for the 400 Thunder Aeroflow Drag Racing Series is a huge honour for me, as I truly respect each and every racer that takes the tree in our sport “concludes Andrew.

Not stopping here, Jason continues to build the team to support our racers and reached out to Emma O’Neill to be part of the corporate relations team.

“My vision for this series is that when we travel to different racetracks, we take the same team to ensure we deliver the same experience for fans and racers”, said Hedges.

“Our team will also take pressure off local staff and officials where and when we can. We all know it’s a long day out there and everyone deserves a break, and if we can share the load to make it easy, we will!” said Hedges.

“Emma will be the ‘go-to’ person for the 400 Thunder Aeroflow Drag Racing series says Hedges, “Emma is across all things drag racing and is the perfect fit to be our Relationships Co-Ordinator, ensuring the race day experience for all stakeholders is a great one.”

“I was shocked to be offered this role to be honest – but in a good way though ” smiles Emma. “I have been a volunteer for many years at Sydney Dragway trying to help out where and when I can, and to now be working alongside Jason and Rusty at every event is so exciting”.

“Jason has a very clear vision of what is expected, and I knew from the moment that I took his phone call, this is a structured business approach with very clear goals to achieve”, says Emma.

“It is so exciting to be a part of a team with the goal of making drag racing great again, and I’m looking forward to the East Coast Thunder in Sydney in November”

The East Cost Thunder is at Sydney Dragway on November 4 & 5 with Tickets and Entries available HERE
