The king of Australian turbocharged racers, Paul Mouhayet, will soon debut a steed that is set to take on the toughest Pro Slammers in the 400 Thunder Series on their own turf.

After lengthy discussions over the past few years, the team at MOITS Racing felt that the needed to step into Pro Slammer to compete with the heavy hitters of the class. From there, a plan was formulated to put together their Australian-legal Pro Slammer.

The man who was at one stage the driver of the fastest door car in the world, said today, “You want to beat the best when you race.  In this country the best door car driver and team is John Zappia and Zappia Racing. We’ve done great things with the turbo cars, but after all we’ve done, the Pro Mod deal hasn’t taken off here.  And for us to race against the best on home soil we needed to go down this road”.
The brand new, US-built Mustang is fully legal for Pro Slammer competition and is currently waiting to be air freighted to its new home in Sydney.

With the long and successful relationship the MOITS team has had with Proline, they were the only choice for this new power plant combination. Jerry Bickel has built some of the fastest blown ‘slammers in the world and was tasked with building the new Moits’ beast, his first Australian bound car.

As soon as the new car arrives it will be set up and tested prior to its debut at the upcoming Nitro Up North event, being the opening round of the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer season in Darwin (NT, Australia).

Although Paul has certainly made his name on both sides of the Pacific Ocean in turbo cars, he is no stranger to the Supercharged-world, having driven the Steve Sarkis owned Blown Nova at Sydney Dragway in the past.

To help the team shake out the gremlins from the new combination, US based tuner Billy Stocklin is making the journey to Australia. Stocklin is one of the most respected names in drag racing, and  has tuned for some of the biggest names in the Pro Mod world including Frankie “The Madman” Taylor and current NHRA Pro Mod racer, Stevie “Fast” Jackson.

Pro Slammer is about to get very, very interesting for the new season.
